I'm in despair

... because apparently lots of people think it's cool to not care about anything.

A few weeks ago my school had a "green week" where speakers came in and talked about ways you can help the environment. You know what was so interesting about it? A lot of the things you can do to to help the environment ALSO help you yourself. Like green building for instance: All of the environment-friendly materials you can use to insulate your house with don't put crap in your air like normal insulation does. And if you put heating in your floor using water pipes instead of forced air heaters, it's a lot more efficient, therefore saving money on your energy bill, and it ALSO doesn't put crap in your air. I found a lot of this very interesting.

What really disappointed me was how no one seemed to take it seriously. they were just like "no class wooo, lets sleep through this period".
Someone told me today something to the effect of "I hear global warming too much these days", and that made me think that they meant "Too many people are talking about it, I wish they'd stop." This made me extremely sad... because this is a very serious thing. Every other problem I've seen in the world today mostly affects governments or politics, but the environment affects the earth and the human race. That's US, PEOPLE. Is the world so devoid of foresight that no one can understand that?

I think the thing about global warming is that it's had the same effect as a frog and boiling water. If it had come upon us very suddenly (like putting a frog into boiling water), then I'm sure more would have been done sooner. But since it's been more gradual (like putting the frog in cold water and letting it get hot), we've just been sitting as it gradually gets warmer around us. Because of this, people can just look away.

This stupid heat wave has made it 106 degrees F, and I really feel like saying "fuck you" to everyone except a select few right now.

This new anime.

The art style is so unique, and the story is very interesting. If you like science fiction you'll be interested in this. It took me a little while to get into, but I couldn't stop watching by the end of the first episode.

I fought my way through, with all my might... My comrades fell around me, but I picked them all up... Oh, we worked so hard! Strived so far!

And at last we reached our final foe, but I was taken down by a Psychic attack...

These certain ads for some medical website keeps giving me popups every time I roll over them. D: It's really really annoying.

Also, if you see one that says "women are twice as likely to have Depression than men", that's false. D: Women are more likely to be DIAGNOSED with it. Men, a lot of the time, would hide the symptoms or convert it into anger or something else, whereas women are more likely to show their symptoms and, thus, be diagnosed.
It's an annoying misjudgment that just because more women are diagnosed, that means they have it more.

Can you tell I'm bored and trying to find reasons to not go to bed?

Aw man... the music for Kaiji is so good. *wants OST* *like really*

We've had standardized tests this week (and more next week) and since Seniors don't have to take it, I haven't had to go to school until 12:30 for most of the week. that's cool. :>

Otherwise, I'm just Ok. My AP art portfolio is due next week. 0_0 I had to manipulate some of my older art to get it to fit into my Concentration because I was running short... so I'll have to stretch the truth a bit to get [link] and even [link] (lol) to be self-portraits. But... I really have no time, and my teacher says it will work...

FRIGGIN.. *goes on fruitless search for Kaiji music*
