I have been working on this for... many months, off and on. I am so ready to get this thing off my hands lol. Next time I go to color a big picture like this, I'll plan better from the beginning OTL. I didn't even plot the shadows. My Perspective professor would scold meeee.
It took so long to actually finish this, I can't feel any love for this drawing right now. OTL As I type this description, all I can remember is how I struggled through the process of coloring this, and all the dilemmas that popped up and I kind of waved aside with an "oh well, it should be ok to overlook that just this once" attitude. Because the room is evenly lit from the top with fluorescent lights, interesting shadows were shot and now the focal point is completely lost and all over the place... gahh. If I had drawn the room arranged in a different way, it would have worked a lot better. But because this was a school assignment, I didn't originally draw it with the intent of coloring it.
So, the moral of this story is when you set out to draw something, you should think of how you're going to color it through the WHOLE process, from sketch until finished product... >u>;;
That's great! I'll need a paint like this for my band's album cover! Do you think you could help me? I have the original photo, and the vector drawing, all in a photoshop file. Contact me at and.vigani@gmail.com if you are interested in this job!
I really like the alternative route you took with this scene. The blocky, white furniture and the quilted orange blanket make me think that this could be an infirmary or mental institution in a NASA space station.
